Without invitation, he sat down in the chair across from his desk, and put his cane down on the floor. "She must be new, hadn't seen her before. Are you expanding or did you lose someone?"

"I'm very glad you did," Hannibal agreed with a smile as he cleaned himself up. It truly wasn't that he didn't like Phedre's company; he did, very much. But sometimes he did think of another.

He pulled her in for a kiss before letting her go back to work.
