"Wyn?" House stopped him in the hallway. "You have a minute?"

Part of him wanted to wait until he had more answers to talk to Wyn about the tests he'd been doing, but hee probably deserved to stay informed.

"You're smart," House said. "A good wizard. Don't let that slip."

"Thank you," Wyn said, blushing a little. "It means a lot to me that you think so. Truly."

“Yes, well. You know I mean it, because otherwise I wouldn’t be spending my time on you,” House said bluntly. But it was true.

"No, I suppose that's true," Wyn nodded with a tiny smile. "You don't strike me as the sort who wastes time on anything that you don't have a keen interest in."

"I do not," confirmed House. Though he wished that his interest in Wyn were not quite so keen.

"What an honor to hold your interest at all then," Wyn said, looking genuinely touched.

House looked at him for a moment and wondered if Wyn had actually grasped the confession he'd made earlier in this conversation.

But all he said was, "Usually I'm not the first choice for students to voluntarily spend time with either."

"I like spending time with you. ...You're honest and you never make me feel like an outsider, even when you're examining me like some foreign being," Wyn said honestly, shrugging one shoulder.

"I examine everyone like that," House said. "Boring humans included."

"I'm just saying that your kindness doesn't go unnoticed, and it means a lot," Wyn replied.

"I mean, you're the one who offered to take away my pain, which we both know would cost you something," House pointed out.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"No one should have to suffer, Greg. No one," Wyn said simply.

"Well, alas." He shrugged. "Hey at least I've got a leg. Look at Hart, he looks like a pirate."

"...Was that recent then? The eye, I mean," Wyn asked, keeping his voice low.

[drfeelbad]

"Yeah," said House. "Around the same time the headmistress disappeared."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"No one told me about that stuff before I came here," Wyn admitted.

[drfeelbad]

"I don't know anything useful," House said, "about all that. I'm not exactly in the inner circle."

"I wonder who is," Wyn said, looking thoughtful.

"Bond," said House.

He noticed things.

Wyn tensed at the mention of Bond, just a brief moment of visible discomfort at the mention of the man.

"I'd thought the Headmaster might keep better company than that."

House couldn't help it; he snorted a laugh.

Wyn chewed his bottom lip.

"I'm worried he's interested in my brother," he admitted.

"Hart?" House said. "Or Bond? Or both."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Bond," Wyn replied quietly.

"Worth cautioning him against," House said. Not least of which because House was pretty sure he and Hart were fucking again.

And then... he couldn't seem to stop himself from asking... "Your brother... he flirt with everyone?"
