This was exceptionally stupid, but when Danny left again House kind of missed him.

No, he told himself, he missed having someone cook eggs and tidy up. Insisted to himself, really. Because obviously House was not lonely.

He did, however, actually smile when there was a knock at the door and Danny was on the other side.

"Well," he said. "That took you long enough."

"Yeah, well, wasn't the smoothest trip," Danny said, stepping inside and putting his bag down. "I was being followed, took a detour on the way home. Took longer than I care to admit to loose them."

He pulled the supplies from his bag and put them on the table, slumping in his chair.

"I think this might be my last run for a while," he admitted. "I need to lay low for a bit, House."
