"Wyn?" House stopped him in the hallway. "You have a minute?"

Part of him wanted to wait until he had more answers to talk to Wyn about the tests he'd been doing, but hee probably deserved to stay informed.

Wyn nodded awkwardly.

"Um, so- what do the readings tell you?" he asked finally, hoping to make it all less awkward.

"They're different," House said, and sat back down. Crossed his legs. Because he wasn't sure if his partial erection was visible but he didn't want to take the chance.

"That's good. Means it works. I want you to keep a log, just for a few days. Time, duration, intensity. I can match it to the readings after."

"Sure," Wyn nodded, fidgeting a little. "I can do that."

"You don't have to... provide me with more detail than you're comfortable with," House added hastily.

"I don't mind sharing whatever you want to know," Wyn assured him.

He didn't really want to know anything, when it came to Wyn's sex life. Like who the other person he was fucking was.

"I don't need specifics," he said.

"Okay," Wyn nodded, offering another smile.

House sat back down in his chair and then said, "How... are you?" Because he actually did care.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Fine," Wyn replied instantly, because that was always his answer. He was always fine.

"My leg seems to have healed, so... It's fine."

"I wasn't concerned about your leg," House said. Okay, well if Wyn didn't want to talk about his trauma, which was understandable: "Like how are things going with your brother being here?"

"Oh, Alwyn... It's fine. I didn't expect him to come see me, or to take the school's invitation to study here. He's never shown any interest in humans before really."

Truthfully, Wyn wasn't sure what to make of his brother's presence.

"He's always been very proud of his fae heritage."

"He seems to really care about you," House offered.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yeah, no, I know- And I love him, but... Part of me wishes he'd stayed back in the fae realm. People already dislike fae, and I don't think he'll do much to prove we're just like you. He's too busy living the old way," Wyn said.

"And you're worried that his behavior will lead to assumptions about you," House guessed.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yes. I mean, he's probably shagging half the school by now. I've worked hard to prove I'm not like that," Wyn scowled.

House didn't argue with him. "I think the fact that you aren't shagging half the school speaks to what you're like," he said.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yeah, well it didn't stop Richard, did it," Wyn said, tone slightly snappy. "Alwyn has no idea how ruthless people can be. It would be better for us both if he just left."

"Have you told him that?" House asked.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I can't ask him to leave," Wyn sighed.

House sighed. "Look. Based on my conversation with your brother, he seems to have your best interests at heart. Perhaps if he's... embracing his fae-ness, it will pull attention from you."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Maybe," Wyn sighed. "I don't know. I just really thought he wouldn't come here. He always said he wasn't interested. And it's not like we're close, I don't go home to see him ever, and he's never come to visit me."

Nevermind that Wyn had never invited him to, while Alwyn had invited him to come stay with him more than once.

"If you want him to leave you should tell him," House said. "He's here because of you."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You don't think that would be cruel of me?" Wyn asked. "I did tell him I don't need looking after. I am his older brother after all, I should be looking after him. ...But he just insisted he wanted to keep an eye on me."

House shrugged. "I barely know him. But you quietly resenting him I'm sure isn't helping."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"No, I suppose not. I just..."

Wyn sighed and sat back down, picking up his discarded shirt.

"I love him, you know? I do, but- He loves being a nymph, and I just never have. I've always wanted to be human, and him being here is just a reminder that I'm always going to be fae."
