Wyn & Alwyn

Honestly the data analysis that went into trying to gain insights about Wyn was one of the best intellectual challenges House had had in some time. The data from Alwyn was also enormously helpful, since he could use it as a control. Also the process of getting some of it was... a bonus.

Finally he thought he had a pretty reasonable theory. He didn't really want to wait until he ran into him again, so one day right after class he went to Wyn's room and knocked on the door.

"Mmm," Alwyn agreed, nodding slightly. "He disapproves," he added, able to sense that much from his brother.

"Mmm. Yes, well I would imagine he finds your interest in me surprising," House said.

"Perhaps, though I get the feeling he's concerned for you. I'm not sure Wyn trusts me with humans. ...Especially the ones he favours," Alwyn replied with a shrug.

House arched an eyebrow. "What does he think you're going to do to me?"

[sweet_alwyn]

"Hurt you, I assume. You know, use you up then discard you," Alwyn laughed. "If I did though, would you truly mind?" he asked with a purr.

"I am under no delusions that this is anymore than it is," House said, and then shrugged. "I expect you will discard me any second."

[sweet_alwyn]

"It's possible," Alwyn admitted, not about to lie about such things. He knew how fickle he could be. "It's fun for now though, yes?"

"It's certainly very fun for me," said House. "And I'm very glad to hear it's fun for you." Honestly House was a little surprised every time.

"I think you're interesting," Alwyn replied. "I like interesting. Interesting is fun."

"That's a lot of pressure," House said with a quirked smile. "Well are you bored right now?"

[sweet_alwyn]

"I'm always looking to be entertained," Alwyn assured him.

[drfeelbad]

"Well, do you... want to come back to my place?" asked House. "I could try to entertain you."

[sweet_alwyn]

"I thought you'd never ask," Alwyn purred. "Lead the way, lover."

House did lead the way, wordlessly, and when they arrived he said, "So how should I entertain you? Play the piano?"

"I can think of better ways, but we could start there," Alwyn said, peeling off his coat and inviting himself to sit.

House walked over to the piano and sat down. "Well why don't you think of another way while you listen." He started to play.

Alwyn laughed, laying down on the sofa and watching Greg with a warm smile.

He was talented, and the music was beautiful. So much so Alwyn almost didn't want it to stop. It was so nice to just watch Greg play.

House actually forgot he was there briefly. He slipped into improvisational jazz and just kind of got lost in the music. But then he suddenly remembred and stopped playing to look over his shoulder. "Sorry, got a little carried away."

"No, don't be sorry, I'm enjoying it," Alwyn assured him. "You're very talented, your hands are a wonder."

House smiled. "I'm just full of surprises. That's how I stay interesting."

[sweet_alwyn]

Alwyn laughed brightly at that, stretching out where he lounged.

"Oh? What will you surprise me with next? Perhaps a fiddle or a lute..."

House chuckled. He knew Alwyn was joking, but... he reached behind the piano and pulled out a guitar. "Fresh out of lutes," he said, and stood up to go sit next to Alwyn with the guitar.

Alwyn sat up slightly and settled in to watch him play.

"You enjoy music?" he asked.

"Mmmhmm," said House as he started to strum the opening lines to Led Zeppelin's Over the Hills and Far Away.

And then, surprising himself even a little, he started to sing. "Hey lady, you've got the love I need, maybe more than enough...."

Alwyn didn't know the song, he knew very little human music, but he listened in silence. More than the song, he enjoyed Greg- The sound of his voice, the precise movements of his fingers, it was charming. He was charming, Alwyn supposed, a bit surprised by how much he was warming to the human.
